Winner of the 2018 Critics’ Circle Emerging Talent (Voice) Award, Jennifer France made her Salzburg Festival debut in Summer 2019. She sang Alice in Gerald Barry’s Alice’s Adventures Under Ground for the Royal Opera, London, and elsewhere has sung principal roles for the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, the Dutch National Opera, the Nederlandse Reisopera (being nominated for a Schaunard Award for her performance as Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos), English National Opera, Garsington Opera at Wormsley, Glyndebourne On Tour, Opera Holland Park, Opera North and Scottish Opera (where she was an Emerging Artist). Regular concert engagements have included performances with the Academy of Ancient Music, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, the Britten Sinfonia, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the London Mozart Players, the London Sinfonietta, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Israel Camerata and the Swedish Chamber Orchestra. Her recordings include George Benjamin’s Lessons in Love and Violence (Nimbus CD and Opus Arte Blu Ray / DVD), two volumes of Debussy Mélodies (Hyperion CD) and Elgar’s A Voice in the Wilderness (Hallé CD). For The Mozartists, Jennifer France has sung Flavio in the UK première of Jommelli’s Il Vologeso.
