George von Bergen is a former Associate Artist of The Mozartists, and first performed with the company at Kings Place in 2008. As an ENO Harewood Artist, George has appeared in the roles of Sharpless (Madam Butterfly), Zurga (The Pearl Fishers) and Marcello (La bohème). Other highlights include Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor) for Danish National Opera, the title role of Ambroise Thomas’ Hamlet for Croatian National Theatre’s new production, Ford (Falstaff), Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) and Belcore (L’elisir d’amore) for Opera Holland Park, Ned Keene (Peter Grimes) for Teatro alla Scala’s new production by Richard Jones, and Demetrius (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) for both Garsington and Longborough. Oratorio performances include Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Bach’s St John Passion, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria and Fauré’s Requiem.
