Filipa Van Eck studied at the Royal College of Music as the Dame Kiri Te Kanawa Scholar. She made her début with The Mozartists (then Classical Opera) in 2015, singing the role of Sabina in J. C. Bach’s Adriano in Siria. Previous operatic roles have included the title role in Arianna in Creta and Rosmene (Imeneo) for the London Handel Festival, Barbarina (Jonathan Dove’s The Little Green Swallow) for British Youth Opera, Micaëla (Carmen) and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) for Woodhouse Opera, the title role in L’incoronazione di Poppea for English Touring Opera, Lisetta (La gazzetta), Gabrielle (La vie parisienne), the title role in L’enfant et les sortilèges and Laurette (Le Docteur Miracle) for the RCM and the title role in The Cunning Little Vixen for Cape Town.
